The ministries of Crossroads Community Church are driven by a desire to give everyone solid biblical instruction for life. Hard decisions have to be made in the midst of confusing alternatives. The scriptures give us our direction. It is the Word of God that brings the clarity and guidance we need when we find ourselves at difficult crossroads.
We hope you find a place to grow and to serve along this wonderful journey we walk by faith.

Samaritan Village Orphanage

Rescuing orphaned and abandoned children in Tanzania, Africa.

With its goal of rescuing abandoned children and giving them a permanent home clearly in mind, the first objective has always been to find families who will adopt these children. Since its beginning in a small house in Arusha, Samaritan Village has rescued over one hundred children. The majority have been adopted by families from around the world. Those children who have not been adopted have been given a home at Samaritan Village so that through the Grace of God, these once abandoned children now have a place they call home.
Today, Samaritan Village is growing and currently cares for more than 50 children in a permanent residence with a 24 hour staff to care for them. The orphanage provides each child with nutritious food, clothing, health care and education in a warm and loving Christian environment. Samaritan Village has its own chapel for daily worship and serves not only the children, but many members in the community as well.
Samaritan Village’s Future
Samaritan Village is continuing to expand in order to rescue more children and meet the diverse needs of the those in the surrounding community. We have just completed construction of a three story medical clinic and dormitory that will serve some of the health needs of the children and the local community and add rooms for up to eighty more children. We have also completed a new nursery that will allow us to provide better care for babies brought to the orphanage with severe medical needs.

Joshua House Men’s Center

Helping men put back the broken pieces of their lives.

Many men have fear of appearing vulnerable or weak by admitting pain they have experienced in their lives. Many men either deny, store, or mask their pain. They live their lives stuffing and storing their pain, hiding their guilt, concealing their insecurities, and live a life of unresolved inner turmoil. These unresolved memories, emotions and negative life events can lead to depression, anxiety, anger and a host of emotionally destructive behaviors.
Eventually the pain men carry becomes too much to handle and many men self-medicate turning to alcohol, drugs, pills or whatever other substance placates their hurt.
Joshua House helps men put back the broken pieces of their lives. We help with them process their difficult emotions and overcome their addictions.
The students in our program receive a host of classes that help them overcome their addictions, but also to equip them for life after they graduate. With our re-entry phase which occurs in the last two months prior to graduation the prospective graduates are taught how to create a resume, and upload it into one of the online databases, i.e. Monster, Indeed.
We help students get their GED, recover their drivers license, apply for jobs, apply for college, enlist in the military, we help them in whatever way we can to reengage life with a new perspective and a new vision for their future.
Joshua House is a second chance men’s recovery ministry that helps broken and addicted men overcome their addictions, and emotional pain, and get back on their feet.
We do this in part by giving the students responsibility. We are a working program and we send students out each day on work crews supervised by one of our staff members.
The crews can be labor, clean-up, yard work, construction, fencing, roofing, flooring, janitorial or any other host of jobs, and or projects. We also have daily classes that teach the men biblical principles by which they can incorporate in their lives. Principles that teach them to being better husbands, fathers, sons, and contributors to society.
We are a non-profit organization whose mainstream revenue source comes from the jobs that we acquire. Have a job that you need done? Honey do list that your honey hasn’t the time to get to? Here is a partial list of projects we can help with. Click the Hire Us button below and get started today!
Visit Joshua House Men’s Center website for more information.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” —2 Timothy 3:16

The students are assigned to cabins with six to eight other campers and an adult counselor. They participate in thrilling games on the field and in the pool. This is an amazing week that transforms the hearts of students!

Children’s Ministry

Children matter to God and they matter to us! We are here to love and build relationship with each child, and teach them about God from His word. “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power and the wonders He has done! (Psalm 78:4) As they experience His love and His truth, may they come to trust and obey Him, receiving Him as their Lord and Savior. We are here to help you parents and grandparents you as you raise your children in the ways of the Lord.
We have a child protection policy in place which includes check-in and check-out procedures and screening of all paid and volunteer nursery/children/youth workers (application, interview, reference checks, background checks with live-scan).

Our Nursery Ministry provides a loving, safe, clean, and well-equipped facility. Food & Storehouse Ministry

Our food and storehouse ministries include the Clothes Closet, which provides clothing to over 40,000 families per year with clothing, emergency food for hungry families, and blankets, tents and supplies to homeless families living in the area.
Clothes Closet
One of our most successful Care Ministries to our community is our Clothes Closet. This ministry is totally dependent on the donations received and the volunteers who run it. This ministry offers free clothes to anyone and everyone who need them. Each year this ministry provided clothing to over 40,000 area families. The Clothes Closet is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Storehouse Ministry
This ministry provides emergency food at 2:00 pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, to individuals and families from all over the area who are hungry. We also provide diapers and baby food to families with small children. Donations are always welcomed and can be dropped off at the church office during business hours.

Missions Ministry

Crossroads Community Church is a mission-oriented church. We believe that we should not only reach the immediate area for Christ, but reach the state, nation and world with the gospel. We tithe our church income for missions and take up many additional offerings throughout the year to support missionaries, mission projects, orphanages and work camps.
Samaritan Village Orphanage
We are a private, nonprofit organization established in 1992 and run by volunteers to develop, expand and maintain a Christian orphanage in Tanzania, Africa, to care for the abandoned and orphaned children. We exist for the purpose of implementing the great commission of Jesus Christ to go into all the world and preach the gospel and make disciples. We provide physical, emotional, mental, educational and spiritual care for these children. Visit Samaritan Village to see them in action.
Joshua House Men’s Center
This ministry is a one-year 24/7 live-in men’s program for those who have overwhelming life-controlling addictions that rob them of having a real life, the life that God has planned for them. Students learn about God and learn to apply this knowledge to their lives through worship, classes, studying, homework, vocational training, working, enjoying lots of good food and fellowship and some free time. Check us out online.
Annual Mission Trips
While we have local community mission activities, our extended missions have included trips to Mexico (several locations), and Diamond Arrow Christian Conference Center.
A Woman’s Friend Pregnancy Resource Clinic
A Woman’s Friend is a long-standing ministry that Crossroads has supported from our beginning. Located in Yuba City, California, the Woman’s Friend provides a free clinic for women. They offer sonograms and provide counseling to consider “life” instead of an abortion. If a pregnant woman is unable to raise their child, A Woman’s Friend encourages them to consider adoption. They also offer free counseling for women who have had an abortion.
Dan McGraw
Dan McCraw is a phenomenal Christian musician and singer who attended bible college with Pastor Jim Clark. Dan travels each year throughout United States doing concerts to raise money so he can travel as a missionary to countries around the world, some of which include: the Philippians, Korea, China, Taiwan, South America, and Central America. The church has supported Dan’s ministry since our inception in 1991.

Media Ministry

All of our volunteer tech teams who handle audio/video/lighting, play an integral part of setting the atmosphere for worship and provide cds, dvds, podcasts and video streaming on the world wide web. AVL Director Jason Arsenault heads up a team of volunteers who for the most part go unnoticed because of good sound, good lighting and good video.

Outreach Ministry

Outreach begins outside the four walls or our church. We believe in using every means possible to catch the attention of those who need Christ. We host many events such as the Celebrate America Outdoor Concert and BBQ in the street on July 3rd, to the Christmas Drive Thru, Western Round-Up, Wild Game Feed and the Picnic in the Park. We use the printed page, gospel tracts, billboards, CDs, DVDs, social media, the web, and any other method that might be needed to reach people.
We offer bus transportation to the second service on Sunday mornings, visit people in jail, help people in need with food and clothes, and minister in the local schools and parks.
CCC offers bus transportation on Sunday mornings to our 11:00 AM service. We pick up in Yuba City, Marysville, Olivehurst and Linda. If you are interested in riding the bus call the church office at (530) 751-9168 and we’ll make sure you have a ride.
Crossroads jail ministry is actively involved in the jails in Yuba and Sutter counties as well as the Juvenile Hall in Marysville. This ministry is under the direction of Pastor Earl Phillips. Earl ministers to men in the jails presenting the gospel to the inmates and teaching them the word of God. When they are released from incarceration, they are welcomed and wanted at Crossroads Community Church. In fact, the inmates upon discharge are told: “The first place you should go is CCC, they will help you with clothes, food and a hot meal, but most of all they will love you.”

Music & Drama Ministry

Church volunteers use musical and acting gifts as tools to present the word, to build up the body of Christ, and touch the hearts of those who need the Lord.

Traditional Service Worship

Randy has served the church as Minister of Music for our traditional 9:00 AM Sunday service since the church began in 1991. With his 12-string guitar and his smooth style of singing, he leads the congregation in a beautiful worship experience. A mixture of hymns and praise choruses appeal to young and old alike.

Contemporary Celebration of Praise
New Leader TBA
Saturday Night Contemporary Celebration
Leader: Myndi Towler
Myndi loves to sing praises to the Lord and leads the congregation in worship through contemporary songs.

Christmas Drive-Thru
The Miracle of Christmas Drive-Thru is the story of the life of Christ with scenes from before He was born, the manger, the visit of the shepherds and magi (wise men), Jesus as a boy, the Last Supper, Jesus being beaten, the cross, the empty tomb and His triumphant ascension into Heaven. The live nativity has 15 different scenes, each with its own theatrical set, complete with actors and animals. Before each set, a scripture verse that explains the meaning of the scene is displayed on a large board. It takes over 350 volunteers each year to produce the drive-thru. Since it is cold outside in December, our actors work in 45-minute shifts. All of the beautiful scenes are enhanced by the costumes and props made by our volunteers. Each year over 8,000 take a tour through the scenes. Many are moved to tears at the end. The drive-thru is offered free to the public. It is our gift to Yuba City and the surrounding area.

Prayer Ministry

We believe that when we pray we invite God’s power to be released. Dependence on God through prayer is foundational to our church and provides a solid base for all we do. The Prayer Ministry at CCC is a support to people undergoing challenges in all areas of everyday life. If you have a prayer request, we would be honored to pray for you. If this is an emergency, please call the main church number at (530) 751-9168 during office hours or (916) 761-0552 after hours.

Serve & Volunteer Ministry

We believe that people who are growing in love for Christ and His church have a desire to show that love. One of the best ways to do that is by serving others. There are many ways and places to serve. We encourage you to get involved and want to help you find your place of service.
It takes a volunteer force to carry out the number of activities and events on our church calendar. You’ll find there are thousands of ways to serve – from rocking a baby on Sunday mornings – to leading a small group – assisting with children’s and student activities, preparation of meals – the opportunities are endless. Let us help you find out just how rewarding and fun serving others can be!
It is our goal to help place the right people in the right places for the right reasons!
Just as the human body cannot function properly unless the eyes, ears, and hands each do their part, so the Body of Christ (the Church) cannot function as God intended without each believer doing his or her part. 1 Corinthians 12 shows us that we all have a place to serve in the church and that we all play a vital role in the body of Christ. The body of believers at Crossroads relies upon volunteers to help in fulfilling the calling that God has given us as a church.
We have a variety of ministries that encompass many different talents and passions. Whatever your talents and passions are, we have a place for you! If your schedule does not allow you to serve on an ongoing basis; we also have a variety of one-time service opportunities.
If you are interested in volunteering at Crossroads, completing our quick Worker’s Survey Form will help us get you started in the right place.

Recovery Ministry

The recovery ministry is an integral part of Crossroads Community Church. The enemy makes promises he cannot keep and leaves us a long life road destroyed and broken. Our ministry is to put our hand out and lift up each person who has been wounded and bruised and offer a way out. What Satan meant for bad, God uses for good. Our programs are designed to give men and women another chance because we serve the God of second chances.
Road to Recovery (Christian 12 Step)
Our support and recovery group provide opportunities for individuals dealing with alcohol and drug addiction to meet with others who face similar challenges. Biblical principles give hope to people seeking freedom from their bondage. These groups meet every Sunday evening from 7:00-8:00 PM
Call Robert at (530) 674-1049 for more information.
Joshua House Men’s Center
This ministry is a one year 24/7 live-in men’s program for those who have overwhelming life-controlling addictions that rob them of having a real life, the life that God has planned for them. Students learn about God and learn to apply this knowledge to their lives through worship, classes, studying, homework, vocational training, working, enjoying lots of good food and fellowship and some free time. Students Ministry

They’ve got the energy, and we believe that the Junior and Senior High students should have the opportunities to express, experience and exercise it. There are many activities on the calendar for our students.
The Junior High and Senior High students participate in their own 11:00 AM church service on Sundays under the leadership of Pastor C.J. Lopez.
The Junior High and Senior High ministry offers fun and exciting opportunities for our 6th through 12th graders. They are ready to make new friends and enjoy a higher level of freedom and activity. The gym is reserved on Tuesday nights them to play ball, shoot pool or just hang out. They are encouraged to participate in a short lesson that has a maximum truth that applies to their lives. They take part in a small dinner that is served and head home.
Pastor C.J. teaches the Junior High and Senior High students as a part of our In the Word On Wednesday program from 7:00-8:15 PM every Wednesday night.
